THOUSANDS TO ATTEND FREE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION FESTIVAL! |

San Ysidro, CA., April 1, 2009 — The South San Diego community of San Ysidro will celebrate its 100th Birthday with a huge festival expected to be attended by thousands on Saturday 16th of May 2009 from 11am to 7pm. The celebration will be held at the San Ysidro Athletic Center (Larsen Field- 4100 Camino De La Plaza, San Ysidro, CA).
Celebrated each year as the community’s heritage day, Dia de San Ysidro has been adopted by the San Ysidro Centennial Advisory Committee, as one of the official San Ysidro Centennial Celebrations. Participating in the organizing of this event is The San Ysidro Centennial Advisory Committee as well as Casa Familiar, Inc., a non-profit community service organization serving San Ysidro for more than 30 years, XLTN Radio Latina 104.5 FM, the San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce and BM 3 Productions.

El Centenario de San Ysidro ha empezado! El 12 de enero a las 9:30 en la mañana la gente de San Ysidro estaban acompañados de: Alcalde Jerry Sanders, Congressman Bob Filner, Senator Denice Moreno Ducheny, County Supervisor Greg Cox, Representante Bustamante de la oficina de Alcalde Jorge Ramos, Council President Benjamin Hueso, y Ms. Solorzano de la oficina de Assemblywoman Mary Salas. Tambien varios represnentantes de las cuidades de Imperial Beach, National City, Chula Vista, el Customs and Border Patrol, City of San Diego Redevelopment, el Presidente de Southwestern College y muchísimas más nos acompañaron. Todos de nuestros representantes dijeron palabras de alabanza como tan importante es la comunidad de San Ysidro que esta situado en la frontera mas cruzado en todo el mundo y es un parte de la cuidad de San Diego muy importante en todos modos. La Senator Ducheny reconoció tan importante es tener la biblioteca histórica situada en el medio del pueblo, y que la visión de la gente de San Ysidro era muy contemporáneo para la época.
